The flag of the United Kingdom, often called the Union Jack, is a combination of three heraldic crosses representing England (St George), Scotland (St Andrew), and Ireland (St Patrick) with its origins dating back to 1606.
The current design dates back to 1801, featuring a blue field with a red, white-edged cross and white and red saltires.
